Michael Baker, M.Ed, LPC, CAC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Addictions
Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor
Michael Baker, M.Ed, LPC, CAC II, NCC, of Baker Therapeutic Services LLC, is an
independently licensed and certified counselor and co-owner with Five Forks Counseling Group
in Simpsonville, SC. Michael co-established Five Forks Counseling Group with over 16 years of
extensive experience in working with adolescents, emerging/young adults, substance
abuse/addiction, trauma, dual diagnosis, gender-specific issues (particularly pertaining to men),
high conflict families, eating disorders, GLBT populations, depression, anxiety, supervised
visitation services, and marketing/business development. Michael is also the clinical consultant
for Safety Net Recovery, Greenville location, and is a therapeutic partner in the Wellness
Partners Group Employee Assistance Program.

While he grew up in Seattle, WA, his most recent and fond roots are in the upstate of SC, having
graduated from both Southern Wesleyan University with a BS in Psychology with a minor in
English, and from Clemson University with a Master’s of Educational Counseling. Michael also
spent several years in Atlanta and is well networked in several states (SC, NC, GA, FL and TN)
should referral for additional or external support services become necessary.
Michael is dedicated to helping eliminate the sometimes crippling stigma associated with seeking
therapeutic services, particularly regarding substance abuse/addiction and survival of trauma.
These stigmas are especially strong in men, who from a young age have been conditioned to
need nothing, show no fear, and keep moving forward regardless of the internal struggles and
processes we all face.

Michael believes in taking a case-by-case approach to everyone and every issue that he sees.
Without a well-informed and in-depth understanding of what one's life has entailed, it is difficult to help people progress to the next phase of their lives. Michael will do all he can to help you and your loved ones to enhance insight, awareness, and active solutions for a better life through
holistic counseling and collaboration. He is ready and able to help.
